Cookies were invented back in the 1800’s. It all started when a baker put a dollop of whatever they were making on the baking sheet to see if it was warm enough to bake bread on. If the dough placed on the sheet cooked, the oven was the right temperature to bake bread.
Fast forward to 2019… Amazing Oatmeal Cookies can be specifically made to taste good, add fuel to your body, and help you feel great while you indulge in something that isn’t all that bad.
Enter stage right… Amazing Oatmeal Cookies.
Here’s the recipe if you want to try a treat… just remember that they can be addictive and they are very shareable. So enjoy as you share with others and make extra.
Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes If you can use a convection oven, reduce the temperature slightly and check cookies at 10 minutes.
2 cups instant oats
2/3 cup flour
3 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp almond butter
3 tbsp butter
1 cup raisins (plump in microwave soak in water for 30 sec and drain water)
2 tsp vanilla
It simple now… Mix dry ingredients and then mix wet ingredients all together. It will make a pretty good and gooey doughy ball. After you have a big mixed doughy ball, use a tablespoon to place little balls about the size of a golfball on some parchment paper. These balls won’t spread too much when cooking to push the balls down to make them a little flatter. Then bake for 12 minutes.
